TED HOPKINS
Ted recognises burgeoning talent when he sees it. When Helen Rushforth attended an interview with Ted (after dropping out of University), he was immediately impressed with her enthusiasm, intelligence, and her big heart. Even at first glance, he saw that she had the potential to become a partner once she gained her chartered recognition.Following the tragic death of Helen's parents and then David, the love of her life, who dies of pancreatic cancer, she can't handle her grief. Her answer was to head off to Paris. Ted was mortified at the time but vowed to keep Helen's position in the company until she recovered from her grief, and he was as good as his word.
Ted is a very fair, kind and generous family man who always sees the best in his friends, family and staff. He has a grown-up son and daughter and also adores his four grandchildren. His love of golfing holidays with his male friends frequently takes him away from his wife, Hilary. He makes up for this by taking her on some lavish holidays two or three times a year.
Hilary doesn't object to the time he spends golfing as she has a wide range of friends herself and she goes on girlie breaks to European Cities.
His staff think most highly of Ted and are extremely loyal to him. He's very approachable when a staff member has something on their mind or going through some troublesome times. When hugs are called for, he's only too delighted to oblige.
